Modern dental implants are essentially titanium screw that are anchored into the jawbone where they act like roots of teeth. Once placed and integrated with the bone they can be used to retain crowns, dentures and even bridges, many people are not able to tell them apart from their own natural teeth.

Implants can only be placed if there is enough bone present in the jaw. When teeth are lost the bone around the teeth gradually dissolves away. If too much bone has been lost it is sometimes necessary to grow/graft bone in its place.
At Dental Sense we believe success is in the planning and after consultation photographs, X-rays and models of your teeth maybe taken to help plan treatment, in some cases a CT Scan may be required.
Implants survive best in a healthy environment. Any tooth decay or gum problems need to be resolved before implants are placed to give them the best chance of success.
